Phillips grew up in Mobile, Alabama, before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001. In 1997, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice from Alabama. He earned his JD from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2000. He is now licensed to practice law in Florida, New York, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Washington, DC, as well as before the United States Supreme Court.

John has also worked with many known names in the US, like in action brought against Omarosa Manigault Newman by Donald J. Trump for President, John prevailed as the principal attorney. Phillips also served as primary counsel for Joseph Maldonado-Passage, also known as Joe Exotic, and appears in four episodes of the Netflix show Tiger King’s second season. Whether you like his music or not, these families deserve justice.” John often updates the Melly issue on his Twitter @JohnPhillips (https://twitter.com/johnphillips).

John is frequently spotted updating his social media followers while spending time with his family. John also had his own TED Talk, in which he discussed gender equality and a variety of other themes.
